Creative direction and design for Government Digital Service
2015 — 2019
Anyone who has been the first designer hired into an organisation knows it can feel a bit isolated.
As dozens of digital teams were set up across the UK, cross-government design meetups were an opportunity for designers from different departments to spend time together. Everyone could share what they had been working on, get feedback from their peers and discuss new design patterns and ideas. Hosted across the UK, the meetups have had speakers like Michael Beirut, Anthony Burrill, Brendan Dawes, Malcolm Garrett, Ken Garland, Dan Hill and Wayne Daly.
I oversaw, commissioned and made a series of posters to promote the meetups. They’re all designed to be printed on office laser printers so they could be quickly and cheaply printed and distributed.
With design from from Stephen McCarthy, Sonia Turcotte and Christopher Thomas, and design direction from Lou Downe.
