Huge DDOS attack has taken vast amounts of the internet down (including GOV.UK) when I'm the on-call manager person.

One of the best bits of working in tech is getting to experience half a dozen experienced devs thinking on their feet to solve an urgent problem. The West Wing was a wet dream of what politics might be like, but on a good (bad) day developers actually work like this.
